The Anova Precision Cooker is a great sous vide machine for home cooks and experts alike. Here’s a short video on how to use the Anova Precision Cooker manually and with the Anova app. We will also show you a few beginner tips for sous vide cooking and how to clean the immersion cooker.
How to use this device?
First things first. Let’s fill up the tub with warm water. We start with warm water so that it takes less time to warm all the way up. Sometimes I use the electric kettle to get this started. Make sure it at least reaches the minimum water level.
Attach the clamp, put on the cooker, and tighten the knobs. Ideally it should be close to a plug. Set the circulator into the water and set it to your desired temperature. If you want to switch between F/C hold the stop and start button for 3 seconds.
Now you can do this in two ways. You can set it directly using the controls on the unit or use the app. Personally, I prefer using the controls on the unit, but there are definite advantages to using it on the app. If you want to use the app … download it. The main advantage is that you can control and check on your sous vide from anywhere. Set your temperature using the app and set the timer. The timer should only start after your water has reached temperature thus starting the cook.

You can clean your sous vide, not the top only the elements. If it gets scaly use vinegar and water and run the sous vide for an hour. Wipe down after use.
